Mr Bleaney

Mr Bleaney is a philosophical poem about life choices and how we live because of the decisions. Mr Bleaney works in a car manufacturing plant on a very small wage enough to rent the small room in which he stayed until the end in which is not totally stated how. The Persona in question is viewing the property for him to inevitably rent. We are aware that the room was very cheap because of the description such as "bed, upright chair, sixty watt bulb, no hook.

The room seems to be 'suspended in time' since Mr Bleaney's departure, we are made aware of this because small things like the same saucer souvenir lays there. We are also made aware that the persona (Larkin?) is struggling to come to terms with his new accommodation which he has just agreed to rent, this could mean that he once was quite an affluent person who would have been prejudicial towards people who lived in these conditions however he must make sacrifices and he realizes that some people have very little aspiration in life so they choose to live as cheaply and as basic as they can.
